Nothing Phone 3 Review: Stylish, Feature-Rich, But Not Budget-Friendly

Nothing Phone 3 Review: Stylish, Feature-Rich, But Not Budget-Friendly

When Nothing launched the Nothing Phone 3 in London, they called it their “flagship” device. I got hands-on for a few minutes, and here’s my honest take.

What Makes Phone 3 a ‘Flagship’?

Premium Design & Feel

Nothing kept its signature transparent design. The metal frame feels sturdy, the Gorilla Glass Victus and 7i provide protection, and the phone is surprisingly slim at 9 mm.

Glyph Matrix Display

Instead of just blinking LEDs like earlier Phones, this model has a dot-matrix Glyph Display. You can display the time, play mini games like Rock-Paper-Scissors, and even use it as a camera viewfinder. A small haptic button lets you switch modes. Cute — but more toy than essential.

Specs & Hardware Overview

  • Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 8S (not top-tier Snapdragon)
  • Memory: LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.0 storage
  • Battery: ~5,500 mAh, supports 65W wired, 15W wireless & reverse charging
  • Display: 6.67″ Flexible AMOLED, peak brightness ~4,500 nits, optical fingerprint
  • Build: Gorilla Glass front/back, metal frame

Cameras – Triple 50 MP Setup

LensMegapixelsFeatures
Primary Sensor50 MP4K @ 60fps video
Periscope Telephoto (3×)50 MP4K @ 60fps video
Ultra-Wide50 MP
Front Selfie50 MP4K @ 60fps

Initial impression: strong specs, but Nothing didn’t dwell on camera performance at launch. Final verdict awaits real-world testing.

Nothing OS 4.0 – Clean & Easy

Powered by Android 16 with Nothing OS 4.0:

  • Essential Space features (wallpapers, universal search, chat summarizer)
  • Promises of 5 years of major updates + 7 years of security
  • Polished interface, but no groundbreaking new features

Nothing Phone 3 Review : Pros and Cons

✅ Pros:

  • Unique transparent design with premium feel
  • Glyph Matrix offers fun, quirky features
  • Strong camera hardware on paper
  • Solid battery with fast wired and wireless charging
  • Clean OS and long-term update support

⚠️ Cons:

  • Dimensity 8S not top-tier—flagship-class performance expected
  • Launch price ₹79,999 feels steep
  • Glyph display is more novelty than utility
  • UI and hardware not drastically better than mid-range alternatives

Verdict – Is It Worth ₹80K?

The Nothing Phone 3 is stylish, playful, and full of potential. But at a flagship-level price (~₹80K), it faces stiff competition from phones with top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, superior cameras, and polish.

If you love Nothing’s design, Glyph creativity, and long-term support, and can snag an introductory offer (~₹65K), it’s a compelling choice. Otherwise, consider top-end devices in that price range for better performance and camera prowess.
