A major incident took place near Kanpur today when the Jansadharan Express, traveling from Muzaffarpur to Sabarmati, derailed near Bhaupur, just after Panki. According to initial reports, two general coaches went off the track around 4:22 PM. Luckily, no one was seriously injured in the accident.

As the train was approaching Bhaupur station, passengers suddenly felt a strong jolt. Two bogies went off the track, causing panic among the people onboard. Some even thought the train caught fire and began jumping off the train in fear.
The incident caused a temporary chaos, but railway officials and police reached the spot quickly to control the situation and begin rescue operations.

Over 350 railway workers have been working non-stop in heavy rain to normalize the situation. Officials from CTM (Chief Traffic Manager) and railway control rooms are present on-site, monitoring the recovery.
“We are making sure all passengers are safe and are being shifted to other coaches or sent to their destination,” said CTM Ashutosh Singh, who visited the affected coaches himself.
